This classroom features rows of music stands and stools, a drum kit, a piano and a conductor's stand as well as a blackboard on the wall. The room holds host to a mixture of both vocal and instrumental practices.

Zel hurried through the door, letting out a sign of relief when the other students were still chattering and the professor was nowhere in sight to be seen. "Seems like we made it right on time." She turned and smiled towards Aerea as she moved towards two empty seats near the back of the room.

Aerea followed her in, glancing at his reflection in a window pane to make sure his cover up spell was working. So far so good. It would not do if the Professor thought he got in fights. He had gotten two lectures already about such things, and next time they threatened to tell his parents. He shuffled on behind Zel and took one of the empty seats, idly flipping through his songbook as he waited for class to begin. He was not really looking at the lyrics on the pages, his gaze roving around slowly instead.

Ren was seated near the other two Slytherins. It was terrible, he thought, as he gazed at the board. Terrible indeed that he had to take this class. A horrible retribution taken by the teachers and his parents for not participating in their goody goody games. And here Ren was, in a music classroom bored out of his mind and regretting every second of his life. At least his parents would be off his back for a little while. He had played Rhys's game of quidditch and that would be enough to get everyone off his back for hopefully more than a week.

Zel glanced over her sheets of music. "I wonder if the professor will give us something new. We've been learning this for eons, as far as I can tell. Stupid Gryffindors always can't hit the right cords." She murmured to Aerea under her breath just loud enough for the Gryffindors not to hear her as she sighed, exasperated. It wasn't their fault that the idiotic lions couldn't manage to sing properly. They should be given something new long ago. This was just getting tiresome and boring.
The professor scurried through the door, a few sheets nearly flying behind as he hurried in. "Apologies. I was running on a tight schedule. Take out your sheets; hopefully we'll be able to get all this right and move on to another piece, so we'll have enough time to practice and perform next holiday." Smoothing out his robes, he fumbled through his stack of musical sheets for the right ones.

Aerea glanced at Zel when she murmured to him. He did not make any move to affirm or deny her claim. He preferred not to back mouth anyone anyway. He was not in the position to. An outcast of his own house, what right did he hold to talk down about the other houses? Just then the professor came in and Aerea flipped to the song they had been practicing this whole time. A song about waking sleeping dragons. Had to do with the school motto or whatever.

Feeling particularly bored, Zel decided to doodle while half heartedly completing the tasks the professor was giving out. He wouldn't notice anyway; he never came to the back of the room. A few quick strokes of her pen and a small image of a snack strangling a cat-like creature appeared on her sheets. It wasn't the best drawing ever, but anyone who saw it will agree it was decent enough to recognize what was going on in the picture. She poked Aerea as she turned the sheet to him so he could see her doodle. She was particularly proud of it.

Ren wasn't paying much attention to the teacher at all. Instead, he had done a small charm on a loose thread that had come off his robe. The little black string was doing a little wiggle dance in tune to the class's song. With everyone starting at the same stanza, Ren sang the words from memory while admiring his tiny charmed friend doing a happy shimming and wobbling dance. It was strangely adorable, not that Ren would ever say that out loud.

"What's that?" Zel whispered as she looked towards the wobbling black string, temporarily distracted. Her little doodle still hung loosely from her hand as she watched the little wiggly thing with fascination while waiting for Aerea's response. "How did you do that?" The little string was much more entertaining than the rest of the class and the professor. Poking Aerea again, she signaled towards the wobbly string. "Look."

"It's a a charm from fifth year," Ren said quietly. "See-ka--Tay-ah. It gives motion to an inanimate object. If you add an additional flick of the wand at the end, then you can give it multiple movements, or a set pattern. Like dancing, instead of something like bouncing in place."
